The first version of algoriddim’s djay app was incredibly well received and heavily promoted on the App Store by Apple, so the goal of the refreshed icon was to keep it recognizable and familiar while building on the core concept. Both the iPhone and iPad versions of the app icon received great attention to detail, composition and refinement. To emphasize the new version, we tapped into one of the prominent new features, namely the advanced, colorized waveforms to bring those visuals into the background. The colors changed slightly between the versions seen here and the final icon you see in the App Store to better match the new branding of the app’s website. Finally, elements from the icon were brought into the larger background of the splash screen to highlight the design while the app is loading.
