We’ve seen a lot of application icons over the years but we have to admit  that the topic of Roller Derby was a first. For Fearless Code, we created this app icon suite for three related iOS apps, Jam Timer, Penalty Timer and PolyTimer. Jam Timer keeps track of all timing related tasks needed in a roller derby game. PenatlyTimer manage blockers, jammers, or the full penalty box, and PolyTimer allows users to configure up to twelve timers on iPad, six timers on iPhone and iPod Touch.

The art needed to show that it was a timer, but it’s also marketed specifically at a Roller Derby audience so we brought in references to real-life equipment that’s normally used and easily identifiable as well as bringing a scuffed up and sporty look to the icons to match.
