Terminal Eleven challenged us to design a new app icon for SkyView, an augmented reality space exploration app for iOS. The client wanted to capture the awe and wonder of gazing at the night sky and didn’t want to be constrained by the design system in place for iOS 7. Several rounds of sketches led us to the final concept seen here which evokes a cozy, planetarium feeling. The viewer “peeks” up at the majesty of the cosmos through the clouds while the warm glow of the earth can be seen in the distance. Find out more about SkyView or check it out in the App Store.
