After the successful launch of their mobile app, Geohopper, for which we designed the app icon and the user interface, Twocanoes Software asked Iconfactory to update their long-time hit partitioning utility Winclone for OS X. We started with the app icon, using the existing “rubber stamp” motif and giving it a strong three-dimensional treatment. Once that was established, we took the interface and advanced it towards a more modern and clean feeling intended to work well across multiple iterations of the operating system. The solution has more personality and strives to be more inherently intuitive at a visual level, with the actual layout of the UI elements echoing the basic function of the app itself. Macworld gave it 4.5 mice.
