For Element 84 we were asked to create a new icon for their homework organizer for Mac and iOS. We iterated on several different metaphors, one of the first of which was the backpack. Sometimes additional exploration is needed to help customers decide on the best direction, even if it may be one of the original concepts. This is a fun icon that was created for and balanced in style to appeal to a broad age range of students from elementary school through college.
