When the creators of Apollo decided to offer a series of alternate app icons for their popular Reddit client, they asked the Iconfactory to create one of the icons. Given a great deal of creative freedom, we used Apollo’s original app icon as inspiration to create an alternate icon that’s both updated and that harkens back to a time when iOS was new and icons had a more photorealistic feel.

The icon was such a hit, the Iconfactory was asked to create additional holiday-themed versions. The first was a Halloween-themed version with whimsical vine antennae and a spooky moon to give the jack-o-lantern just the right Halloween flair. Finally, a Christmas-themed version turned the icon into a festively decorated tree perched on a snowy hill.
